As of the end of the third quarter of 2023, the cumulative transaction volume has reached approximately 76 billion SEK. The volume is around 54% lower than for the same period in 2022. Transaction volumes in 2023 have been relatively weak, and the third quarter is the weakest quarter since 2009. Foreign investors have accounted for approximately 32% of the transaction volume so far this year, which is around 14 percentage points higher than for the same period last year.
The Stockholm area has accounted for the largest share of the total transaction volume so far in 2023 with 50%. Other major cities accounted for about 28% of the volume and the rest of the country accounted for about 13%. Gothenburg and Malmö accounted for 7% and 3% of the total transaction volume, respectively.
